Conceived in partnership with the Exploratorium of San Francisco (USA), SESI Lab is Brasília's new art, science and technology centre, housed in the iconic building that once served as the city's bus station, originally designed by Oscar Niemeyer for the Touring Club. An important part of the museum's collection consists of exhibits – interactive experiences created specially by the Exploratorium to bring visitors closer to scientific concepts, in a playful and entertaining way.
The exhibits were built in the American museum's workshops and shipped to Brazil by sea. ArtQuality was the company responsible for collecting the containers at the Port of Santos and bringing them to São Paulo, where they were stored at Clé Reserva Contemporânea until the building's refurbishment works were completed. Once the building was ready, the exhibits were transported overland to Brasília.
