Histórias Brasileiras

MASP | 2022

Held in the year that marked 200 years of Brazil's Independence and 100 years of the Modern Art Week, Histórias Brasileiras formed part of the project MASP has been developing since 2016 around different readings of Brazilian and world history and their reflections in the visual arts.

The exhibition included more than 400 objects, among them paintings, drawings, sculptures, photographs, videos, installations, newspapers, magazines, books, documents, flags and maps, selected by 11 curators from practically every part of the country.

ArtQuality was responsible for all the logistics of the show, complex work that involved collections in dozens of cities, building bespoke crates, transport to São Paulo, unpacking and overseeing the installation at MASP. Once the exhibition had closed, the company also oversaw the whole process of de-installation, packing and return to the owners.

Beyond the number and spread of collection points, this exhibition was a logistical challenge because of the variety of object types to be transported – all of it delivered within the deadlines needed to guarantee a flawless opening.
